The Damayan party list vowed to help improve the lives of workers and provide a lifeline for the jobless if elected to the House of Representatives.

Its second nominee Guillermo “Jay” Hernandez Jr., said they will carry out a two-point program that focuses on helping generate employment opportunities for Filipinos.

He said they particularly want to introduce sustainable measures that will focus on helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

He said this includes providing a “mentorship program” on how to start a business and those planning to expand them into other markets.

“Many businesses fail because they don’t know how to do business,” said Hernandez, who is also an airline pilot.

“It should be taught first how to start a business and give them easy access to capital to get started,” he said.

Christopher Medina Gallego, the party list’s third nominee, said they will work hard to find more ways that could offer capital to MSMEs.

“There’s actually a law for that but the implementation is lacking,” said Gallego, who is also a Jiu-Jitsu athlete.

Damayan’s first nominee is young businessman Manuel “Even” Reyes VII who vowed to support whoever wins as president in the May 9 elections.

“Our legislative agenda will be in course with his or her legislative agenda,” Reyes said.

The three were the guests of Energy FM’s “Who cares about politics with Papa Jackson” show on Friday, April 1.
